Hold a House or Birthday Party
In January an AAR supporter, Quince, decided to do something different for her 50th birthday party. Instead of gifts, she held a dessert auction to benefit Africa AIDS Response. She sent out invitations asking people to bring a dessert to the party for an auction. A total of 12 scrumptious desserts raised $1,600 to support our sister city in Mutare, Zimbabwe. It was easy to organize and fun! You can also host parties for other various occasions or just because! AAR is happy to be present to provide information and sell quilt panels from Family AIDS Support Organization (FASO). Contact us to get started.
Donate Mileage for Tax Deduction
When sending people back and forth to Zimbabwe, airfare is Africa AIDS Response’s biggest expense. These trips solidify our connections with Mutare, Zimbabwe and allow us to distribute funds while meeting with stakeholders to reevaluate community need.
How It Works...
A individual possessing a 100,000 miles on a British Airline Partner donates miles in the name of one of the individuals in the delegation. An e-ticket is issued and sent via email to Africa AIDS Response. Africa AIDS Response then writes a tax deductible receipt for $600 of in kind donation and mails it to the donor with a complete trip report. It’s simple and helps us ensure that money raised for Zimbabwe is spent in Zimbabwe on programming rather than overhead costs.
